Congo/Call for registration: Export Office launches online workshop

In order to better support jazz musicians in their international development, the Export Office, in collaboration with the Centre national de la musique (CNM), is organizing a series of online workshops for jazz professionals.

The first online workshop entitled "DIY: Booking international gigs" will be held on February 16, 2021 from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm via Zoom. It is primarily intended for musicians who are in charge of the diffusion of their projects for export. It is also open to other interested professionals.

Several themes will be addressed during this first session which will be presented by Matt Fripp, agent and manager, founder of Jazz fuel, which is a platform created in 2016 to accompany independent jazz musicians in the development of their international careers.

Amongst which: how to identify the most relevant broadcasters for your project, build an export strategy, prepare pitches, create e-mailings, how to create content for clubs and festivals. At the end of this presentation, a time for exchange and questions.

To participate, candidates are invited to submit their application by February 12th at the latest, by registering on the link Live session #1 : "DIY : Booking international gigs". A link to join the online session will be sent to them.

The next online workshops will take place on March 16 and April 13 at the same time as the first workshop. The aim of the Export Office is to support the authors, composers, artists and professionals who accompany them to enable them to meet all audiences, in France and abroad.

Every year, several hundred projects of all musical styles benefit from its accompaniment. One of the missions set by the Export Office and the CNM is to promote the international development of the music and variety sector.
