This is one of the activities of the ESauSS project "Social entrepreneurship at the service of society", carried out with the support of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie in Central and Eastern Europe. In this sense, it launches a call for papers open until November 7, 2021.

Context:

The COVID pandemic has generated the greatest humanitarian, social and economic crisis since the Second World War. It has highlighted the fragility of our economies, accentuated existing inequalities and social exclusion, and worsened the situation of marginalized people and groups. The crisis has put back on the agenda the variety of problems to be solved both at global and territorial level, related to climate change, unemployment, health, lack of social cohesion and poverty, etc. These problems are much more acute at the level of territorial communities, which are more concerned with local needs and emergencies and more interested in mobilising collective efforts to find new solutions for economic recovery and social change. At their level, there is also an awareness of the need to reconsider the current modes of production and consumption based on the principle of unlimited growthThe social economy has, in its view, become a key element in the development of the social economy and in the development of the economy as a whole, and in the development of the social economy.

The social economy has, in its genes, the concern to act differently, to put the human being at the centre of its process, to use the economic levers and the profits that they can generate for the benefit of all. Composed of thousands of businesses that share common values, that work to serve the community while respecting the individual and his or her environment, theToday, the social economy is proving to be one of the ways to create a new dynamic for the economy and territories and to increase their resilience.

Territorial communities are often the first to hear the flashing lights of social dysfunction, the signals of the lack of social cohesion, the manifestations of local needs to be met. They are also, very often, the first interlocutors of project leaders, especially in rural areas. In order to develop and play its role as a driving force in the revitalisation and development of local and regional authorities, the social economy itself needs clarity in the concepts used, appropriate models of organisation and governance, and a clearer definition of the role of the social economy. To develop and play its driving role in the revival and development of territorial communities, the social economy itself needs clarity in the concepts used, adapted models of organisation and governance, reliable mechanisms for measuring its impacts, evaluation engineering and financial arrangements, and communication techniques capable of increasing its visibility.
