Under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou N'Guesso, the seventh session of the African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD) will take place from 1 to 4 March in Brazzaville. The aim is to advance the integrated implementation of the 2030 programme and Agenda 2063.

Placed on the theme " Building the future better : Towards a resilient and green Africa for the achievement of the 2030 agenda and the 2063 agenda", the Fradd will also aim to conduct regional monitoring and review of progress, facilitate the implementation of the 2030 agenda and the 2063 agenda. The Fradd will also aim to conduct regional monitoring and review of progress, facilitate peer learning and promote transformative solutions and actions to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aspirations, objectives and targets of Agenda 2063.

The theme chosen for this year is aligned with the theme of the 2021 High Level Policy Forum on Sustainable Development, namely: "A sustainable and resilient recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development : building an inclusive and effective pathway for the achievement of the 2030 agenda, in the context of the Decade of Action and Achievement for Sustainable Development". Both themes recognize the importance of rebuilding socio-economic systems, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by green and low-carbon development trajectories, in order to build a resilient, inclusive and sustainable Africa.

The forum provides a multi-stakeholder platform for monitoring and reviewing progress and challenges in the implementation of both programmes, while enhancing learning and advocating for effective policy measures and actions. As such, it makes an important contribution to strengthening multi-stakeholder engagement and synergies, and promoting concerted efforts to implement and achieve the SDGs of both agendas.

During this symposium, participants will conduct an in-depth review of the implementation of nine selected SDOs and those corresponding to Agenda 2063, through these SDOs, in particular Objective 1: end extreme poverty; 2: zero hunger; 3: good health and well-being; 8: decent work and economic growth; 10: reduction of inequalities; 12: responsible consumption and production; 13: climate action; 16: peace, justice and strong institutions; and 17: partnerships for sustainable development.

It should be noted that this seventh session organized by the Economic Commission for Africa will be held in a hybrid format, that is to say: physical and virtual participation.
