The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) began registration on March 20 in the central prison in Kisangani. It also plans to deploy to targeted hospitals to continue the identification and registration of sick voters in these medical facilities.

On March 20 at the central prison in Kisangani, the Céni enrolled 383 people out of 867 eligible. This was done in the presence of the provincial head of the Justice Division and Keeper of the Seals, the mayor of Kisangani, the coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission and representatives of human rights organizations. The operation will continue on March 22. At the end of the activity, images were published in the various WhatsApp forums of the Céni.

In a message addressed to the president of this electoral center, the president of the Bill Clinton Foundation for Peace (BFCP), Emmanuel Adu Cole, told him that as in Kinshasa, the prisoners and other provisional detainees of the penitentiary institutions of the provinces of the country eligible for the enrolment should also fulfill this civic duty. "I believe that the president of the CENI, who reads me, should find a solution for their enrolment, if this has not yet been done. Prisoners and preventive detainees have the right to be enrolled. If it was done in Kinshasa, why not in the interior of the country?

With this confirmation by the Central Electoral Office of the identification and registration of voters in prisons and hospitals, the president of the FBCP is satisfied with this workand calls on this institution to provide even more efforts to ensure the right of the majority to participate in the elections expected either as a candidate or as a voter.
