France/Champagnac. Thousands of kiwis thanks to the twinning
Champagnac. Twinning: thousands of kiwis. A small group of Champagnacois went, as every year, to Saint-Lon-Les-Mines, to harvest kiwis. The harvest took place on Saturday morning under a radiant sun and mild temperatures. Twelve tons were harvested, which represents a very good yield.
After the harvest, a meal concocted by Huguette and her team awaited the participants. The festivities continued until late afternoon. In the evening, the Champagnacois attended a show proposed by the theater club. The next meeting will take place on the weekend of Pentecost, on May 27, 28 and 29, when the twinning committee will go for the second time to Saint-Lon. A hundred kilos were sold during the book fair on November 19 and 20, there are still kiwis for sale (contact the president, Hervé Herchin at 06.72.78.42.68).
