Hundreds of young volunteers in Ho Chi Minh City have committed themselves to supporting the implementation of the two-tier governance model and assisting citizens in the use of digital public services at local level.

On July 7, the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union organized an online connection point with the central authorities to officially launch the teams of young volunteers. Their mission will be to support the operation of the new administrative system at two levels (province and commune), while providing concrete support to the population in accessing digital public services in districts, communes and the special zone.

Representing more than 300 young people involved in the program, Truong Nguyêt An emphasized that, in a metropolis of over 14 million inhabitants like Ho Chi Minh City, digital transformation and the support of citizens in the use of digital technologies are essential.support citizens in using online public services are no longer a choice, but an imperative dictated by the heart and responsibility of the youth of the city named after Uncle Hô.

The volume of administrative tasks generated every day is immense, while citizens' expectations in terms of service quality continue to grow. This reality is forcing local authorities to continually modernize and optimize their operations. In this process, the commitment of young people is an invaluable lever.

"In the early days of implementing the two-tier model, despite certain advantages, many challenges remain, not least the gradual adaptation to new administrative procedures and innovative solutions", acknowledgedMs Nguyêt An.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lê Tuấn Anh, deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, emphasized the symbolic nature of this day on July 7 - the first day of the second week of the new two-tier governance model.

In his view, the launch of these volunteer teams is particularly significant in the current context, as the country enters a new phase of administrative reform. It will contribute to strengthening the efficiency, transparency and proximity of Vietnam's administrative system.

The youth volunteer movement in Ho Chi Minh City is experiencing a new lease of life, driven by a number of high-impact initiatives. This dynamic is reinforced by the active participation of young people from the two provinces recently integrated into the city: Bình Dương and Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu.

Following the administrative reorganization, Ho Chi Minh City now has 168 commune-level administrative units, comprising 113 districts, 54 communes and one special zone. Faced with this new organization, the city's volunteer youth movement is offered many opportunities, while at the same time facing multiple challenges. This calls for ever more professional action on the part of the City Youth Union, based on enhanced coordination and greater efficiency.
