No less than 140 dwellings and 28 farms were connected to the electricity network on Monday in the commune of El-Hadjeb, located 18 km west of Biskra.

Reassuring the inhabitants of the region, the head of the local executive said that efforts are being made to connect housing to the various networks, also noting the imperative of the connection to the electricity network.He also stressed the need to connect farms to the electricity network and to facilitate the activities of farmers.

The connection to the electricity network has included 140 dwellings in the region of Ain Bennoui under the program of the Guarantee and Solidarity Fund of local communities, aiming at the generalization of rural electricity for the benefit of the inhabitants of the regions. The project, which was carried out under the programme of the Guarantee and Solidarity Fund for Local Authorities, aimed at providing rural electricity to the inhabitants of the eastern regions of this local authority, required the installation of 4 electric transformers and a network of cables over 4.6 km for an amount of more than 21 million DA, according to explanations given on the spot.

In addition, 28 farms have been connected to the electricity network in the Marah El-Kabouya agricultural perimeter as part of sectoral projects of the Directorate of Agricultural Services.

This project required the installation of 6.1 km of electrical network and 4 electrical transformers for a total cost of more than 18 million DA with an execution time that did not exceed 40 days.

Another project will be implemented in the commune of El-Hadjeb and will concern the connection of the rest of the rural dwellings of the city of 165-Rural Housing to the grouping of Ain Bennoui, within the framework of a sectoral project that will be launched after the completion of administrative procedures, according to explanations provided on site.
