A study on mobility in Île-de-France will be conducted from October 2022 to March 2023. Participants in the study will be paid 30 euros. Registration is now open.

The Paris Region Institute is going to carry out, with the Ile-de-France Region, a large regional survey with the aim of "better knowing the mobility habits of the inhabitants of Ile-de-France since the health crisis", the Region announced Île-de-France in a press release. This study, which will take place fromOctober 2022 to March 2023, will be conducted on approximately 4,000 participants, who will be paid 30 euros in the form of a voucher.

A GPS box to study the movements

Participants will be provided with a small GPS device that they will have to carry with them on every trip, whatever the distance, for 7 days, including weekends. A form with three questions will also have to be filled in daily. The GPS will then be collected by mail and the stored data will be analyzed.

The data collected is intended to "improve transportation and reduce its impact on the environment while prioritizing sectors according to use," says the Île-de-France Region.

"The privacy of participants will be respected and the data will be completely anonymous," the Île-de-France Region assures. Only information about the participants' journeys will be scrutinized: times, places of departure and arrival, modes of transport used, distances covered and activities carried out.

How to participate?

To take part in the survey, two conditions must be met: you must live in the Paris Region and be atleast 15 years old. Registration is open online or by contacting the Paris Region Institute directly at enquete_emg@institutparisregion.fr or by phone at 01 77 49 77 44.

Profiles selected to participate will be contacted by email or phone. It will then be possible to choose one week from three proposed dates. Participants will receive, at the end of the survey, a dematerialized voucher of 30 euros, usable in several brands.
