Switzerland/ Nearly a ton of hygiene articles distributed in Valais by the Red Cross

In the wake of the "2x Noël" solidarity campaign, the Crois Rouge Valais collected 390 tonnes of food and hygiene products, which will be redistributed to families in the Valais.

Three hundred and ninety tonnes. This is the quantity of food and hygiene products collected by Croix-Rouge Valais throughout Switzerland. This figure is part of the "2x Noël" solidarity campaign organized by the association.

From February onwards, the Valais Red Cross will be distributing hygiene articles to people in difficulty and to the canton's social institutions. "Beneficiaries will be able to pick up their parcels at designated distribution points, according to the procedures communicated by partner associations", explains a press release from the association.

In Valais, an estimated 6.4% of the population, or 19,500 people, are considered poor.
