DRC/Kinshasa: Ngobila and his Kenyan counterpart from the city of Kisumu consider a south-south cooperation

At Kinshasa City Hall, Governor Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka received his counterpart from the city of Kisumu, Kenya, Peter Anyang Nyong'o. Together, they discussed several issues concerning the two cities, which could consolidate their relationship by putting solid foundations around a decentralized cooperation.

The head of Kenya's third largest city, Peter Anyang Nyong'o, took the opportunity to extend an invitation to his Congolese counterpart to visit the city of Kisumu. Together, the two personalities agreed on the establishment of an ad hoc committee that could ensure the implementation of a South-South cooperation.

For his part, the chief executive of the city of Kinshasa said he was very excited about this rapprochement of the two cities, given that "our two heads of state have excellent relations. The urban authority also stressed that Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo share a long common history, both politically and culturally.

The city of Kisumu which is the third largest city in Kenya is located almost on the Equator, west of Nairobi, on Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world.
