A new municipality has been added to the network of relay villages, allowing one more community to offer safe and welcoming stopping places for road users. This is the 44th community to receive this certification.

The municipality of Val-des-Bois, gateway to the Papineau-Labelle wildlife reserve, has a population of nearly 1,000 and is located at the junction of routes 307 and 309. Travelers can take advantage of a variety of tourist attractions and local services as well as a municipal rest area.

Quotes

"I am pleased that Val-des-Bois has been added to the network of relay villages. This circuit, which extends throughout Quebec, is necessary to ensure the safety of road users and to offer a stopping place that is accessible at all times and equipped with various services. Val-des-Bois was chosen for its quality of welcome and its tourist, cultural and natural attractions, and it plays a role in the local and regional development of the Outaouais.

François Bonnardel, Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Estrie region

"I am very proud of the status of relay village granted to the magnificent municipality of Val-des-Bois in Papineau, in the Outaouais. At the dawn of the summer season, I invite the population to come and take a break to discover the many natural bodies of water, the mountainous landscapes and the forests of Val-des-Bois and its surroundings.

Mathieu Lacombe, MP for Papineau, Minister of Family and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region
