Construction work on the Centre d'insertion et de réinsertion des jeunes in Aubeville, Bouenza department, has reached the final stage. More than twenty new buildings have been erected. The twelve existing buildings have been completely refurbished.

The Minister for Youth realized this during his latest working visit to the site. " This is a routine visit. We're satisfied with the results of our inspection, since the work is well advanced ", declared Hugues Ngouélondélé.

Rehabilitation is a challenge that the government is taking up to address the issue of youth care. By putting the rehabilitation centers into operation, at least 400 young people who have dropped out of school and lack parental guidance will be reintegrated into society. They will receive training in various trades.

Classrooms, administrative buildings, refectories, dormitories, an infirmary, a restaurant, a sports field and an amphitheater seating over 250, as well as a farm, have all been built on site. " Technically, all that's left is the amphitheater to be sheeted. As for the rehabilitation, we're 100% finished. As for the new buildings, we're at 80% ," comments site manager Franck Tsouké.

But the state of the road leading to the center remains a real headache, and the Minister pleaded for it to be upgraded to facilitate the transport of materials to the Aubeville center. " Last year, when we came here, we could reach Madingou in 20 or 30 minutes. But now it's a disaster. We need to find a solution very quickly. The road is feasible in a very short time ", said the Minister.
