The Princeville Economic Development (PED) team is entering the year 2022 with a lot of motivation because of the many projects to come on the Princeville territory. Through its actions, DEP will intervene, among other things, to support families in the acquisition of residences as well as to promote the attraction of the workforce in the manufacturing sector.

Promoting home ownership for young families

"We will rely on the Princeville Advantage and First Home programs to offer financial incentives that will give a hand to young families who choose to settle in Princeville," says DEP President Laurier Chagnon. He adds that he is very confident about the future, particularly because of the 10th consecutive increase in population and the arrival of the fifth phase of the LaFontaine Golf Course and the emergence of Faubourg des Prés.

Supporting the Employment Sector

To support Princeville's economic development, DEP will continue to work with manufacturing companies facing labour shortages. It is still too early to say whether DEP's strategy will include holding a third edition of the Job Rally or whether a new formula will be proposed.

"Coming to work in Princeville is one thing, but what we ultimately want is for workers to settle in Princeville and contribute to our local economy," adds Mr. Chagnon. In addition, DEP plans to promote buying local throughout the year through the business and services directory iciaprinceville.ca launched in 2020.
