The Minister of Communication, Government Spokesperson, René Emmanuel Sadi and the Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, will jointly host a press conference this Wednesday, April 14, 2021, in the early evening, with the aim of promoting the need to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

"Vaccination is undeniably the most effective way to achieve herd immunity and definitively curb the spread of the pandemic. From this point of view, I believe it is essential that our States make the most of the COVAX system to ensure the vaccination of as many people as possible," said Cameroonian President Paul Biya, current chairman of the CEMAC Heads of State Conference, in his message delivered at the conference. In his message delivered on March 16, 2021, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 12th edition of the CEMAC Day (Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa), the Cameroonian President Paul Biya, current President of the CEMAC Heads of State, said.

In order to amplify the message of the Cameroonian Head of State, two members of government, namely René Emmanuel Sadi, Minister of Communication, Government Spokesperson, and Manaouda Malachie, Minister of Public Health, will deliver this Wednesday evening, the government communication about the vaccination campaign against Covid-19, launched in Cameroon since Monday, April 12, 2021. This was the day after the arrival in Yaounde of 200,000 doses of Sinopham vaccine donated by the People's Republic of China.

This first shipment was initially meant for health workers. But the government finally ordered that the vaccine be given free of charge to all volunteers. Despite this opening, there is still no palpable enthusiasm among the population. Many people fear the side effects of the vaccine. "Everyone talks about the side effects. I think there is a bit of exaggeration. There is no medical treatment in the world without side effects. But the benefits have to far outweigh the drawbacks. And this is also the case with the vaccine," explains Professor Ashu Tantang Gloria, Vice President of the National Order of Physicians of Cameroon. No doubt that the communication of this evening will go in the same direction, that of convincing the refractory.
