Fifty young people from Keur Massar, a department in the Dakar suburbs, are taking part in a three-day training course in transformational leadership, social entrepreneurship and project development, which opened on Wednesday, at the initiative of the NGO "Senegal next generation of leaders" (SENEGEL).

We have 50 young people in Keur Massar as part of a social equity program to identify young entrepreneurs, social actors and innovators, so that we can provide them with better support through training and autonomous learning", explained the organization's general manager, Pape Samb. This will enable us to identify young entrepreneurs, social actors and innovators, and better support them through training and autonomous learning", explained the organization's general administrator, Pape Samb.

Speaking at the start of the training session, he said that his organization's programs included training facilitators in professional integration and business creation, in Senegal and in several other African countries.

After Mbour and Keur Massar, the organization will be organizing training courses for young people in Thiès, Saint-Louis, Kaolack and Dakar, with the support of its partners.

Pape Samb also assured the audience that SENEGEL is an academy that supports young people in training, business creation and professional integration. It is also involved in the formalization of non-trades and creative industries.

On the question of the high demand for jobs in Senegal, he believes that the State does not create jobs, but rather translates innovations into public policy (...)?

"We need to create an ecosystem of public, private and social players", he pointed out. The aim is to "develop and train vocational integration facilitators who will assess the skills and needs of young people to help them find employment".
