France, Senegal

Since Saturday July 15, it's official: the town of Inzinzac-Lochrist (Morbihan) is twinned with the town of Notto, Senegal. A delegation from the town of Notto, including its mayor, Maguette Mbaye, was present at the town hall to sign the twinning protocol.

The idea for this twinning came about in November 2023, when a delegation from the Thiès region in Senegal visited the Lorient region (Morbihan) at the invitation of Lorient Agglomération. gion of Thiès in Senegal to Pays de Lorient (Morbihan), at the invitation of Lorient Agglomération. The aim was to set up a twinning committee with three towns in the area: Lorient, Languidic and Inzinzac-Lochrist.

The aim of this twinning is to create a dynamic of actions for the development of the economic, cultural, educational, institutional, health and environmental sectors, as well as to strengthen existing links between France and Senegal.

To achieve this, it will be necessary to set up actions that will feed this exchange. It was with this in mind that the two delegations signed the protocol which aims to provide a framework for the creation of a twinning arrangement, and sets out the framework for the cooperation project. The visit was an opportunity for the Notto representatives to discover the town and its leisure and cultural facilities, as well as an organic farm.
