Morocco/L'OIT et l'OFPPT décidés à étendre leur collaboration aux domaines des soins (Mme Tricha)

Tamesna - The International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Office de la formation professionnelle et de la promotion du travail (OFPPT) are determined to extend their collaboration to the fields of personal and community care and services, said OFPPT Director General Loubna Tricha in Tamesna on Wednesday.

"With the ILO, we have agreed to pursue our interactions and explore new avenues of collaboration together, particularly around themes of common interest such as care and personal and community services. Ms. Tricha emphasized in a statement to the press, on the occasion of a visit by the Managing Director of L'Oréal.Gilbert Houngbo, to the Cité des Métiers et des Compétences (CMC) in Tamesna.

The OFPPT CEO noted that the ILO remains a key player in the employment/training ecosystem on the international stage, and reiterated the OFPPT's commitment to supporting the needs of its members.OFPPT's commitment to supporting strategic projects in Morocco aimed at developing skills and promoting the employability of young people, including projects undertaken with the ILO.

For his part, Mr. Houngbo welcomed his visit to the Tamesna CMC, stressing that it is crucial to develop trades and skills at various levels to stem the tide of unemployment.He stressed that it was crucial to develop trades and skills at various levels in order to tackle the problem of youth employment, especially in a changing world where artificial intelligence is beginning to take over.

During his visit, the ILO DG, accompanied by a delegation, was able to learn about Morocco's efforts to develop vocational training, in particular the ambitious project to set up a new generation of "Etablissements de Formation Professionnelle".a new generation of training institutions, the backbone of the new roadmap for the development of vocational training.

On this occasion, the ILO delegation visited the various areas of the CMC Tamesna, including the common structures, the innovation chain and the training workshops. The CMC Tamesna offers a wide range of training in 79 fields, with a capacity of 4,560 teaching places.

As a reminder, the OFPPT has contributed to a number of projects initiated within the framework of cooperation with its long-standing partner the ILO, notably the THAMM project (2019-2022), the aim of which is to prepare, implement and/or improve regular mobility schemes and the legal framework.This pilot phase has resulted in the recruitment of some 50 OFPPT graduates, 43 of whom are undergoing pre-departure training in Germany, and another 50 in Belgium.

OFPPT will also contribute to the second phase of the THAMM project, for the period 2024-2028, aimed at completing the bilateral mobility programs implemented between North African countries and European Union (EU) member states.

The Office de la formation professionnelle et de la promotion du travail also participated in the STED-AMT (Skills for Trade and Economic Diversification) project, a regional initiative launched by the ILO and financed by the Korean Agency for International Cooperation.e by the Korean agency KOICA, in Maghreb countries, including Morocco, which enabled the sectoral analysis of two branches, namely IT Offshoring (ITO) and Biscuiterie, Chocolaterie et Confiserie (BCC). As a result, 15 OFPPT employees received training in the STED approach, which provides strategic guidance for integrating skills development into sectoral policies.

Another project was developed with the ILO between 2012 and 2016, focusing on "Young People at Work", which led to the signing in 2014 of a letter of intent between the ILO and OFPPT.a letter of intent between the OFPPT and the ILO to raise young people's awareness of entrepreneurship and initiative in vocational training establishments. It has also enabled the training and certification of OFPPT trainers and entrepreneurship support desk managers in entrepreneurship and financial education.

In addition, the CLE "Formation à l'entrepreneuriat" program was launched in 2008 with funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), resulting in the training of 66,729 trainees, in addition to the training of 606 trainers.
