Senegal/Fatick: two ambulances to the health posts of Bicole and Mbettite
The Municipal Council of Diarrére, a commune located in the department of Fatick, handed over, on Saturday, two ambulances to the health posts of the villages of Bicole and Mbettite.
The commune of Diarrère has seven health posts and there were only the health posts of Bicole and Mbettite which did not yet have ambulances", explained the mayor, Thérèse Faye Diouf, during the symbolic handing over of the ambulances.
The Municipal Council has voted in the 2020 budget, an amount of 15 million CFA francs, intended for the "acquisition, transport and all costs related to the acquisition of these two ambulances," she added in the presence of the head nurses and local health actors.
The difficulties in evacuating patients from these villages, which are landlocked at the Fatick regional hospital or the Fatick Health Centre, prompted the Municipal Council to acquire these ambulances, she said.
Today, the provision of ambulances to these two villages allows the Diarrère commune to have ambulance coverage for all its seven health posts," she said.
