The Consulate General of Vietnam, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Thai-Vietnamese All-Thailand Entrepreneurs Association, jointly organized the Vietnam - Thailand 2025 Business Forum in Khon Kaen, Thailand, on August 28.

The event brought together some 150 delegates, including diplomatic officials, partner organizations, businesses and representatives of the diaspora. It was part of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (1945-2025) and the upgrading of bilateral relations to the level of Integral Strategic Partnership (May 16, 2025).

Under the theme "Strengthening Vietnam-Thailand economic cooperation in the new era", the forum enabled businesses from both countries to exchange experiences, share their vision of development and discuss policies in line with concrete needs on the ground. Speeches focused on cooperation assets, the green economy, brand building, tapping the Northeast Thai market and the role of young entrepreneurs.

In the dialogue session, participants discussed in depth issues related to strengthening supply chains and logistics, removing legal obstacles removing legal barriers, developing the digital economy, innovation and sustainable growth strategies. They emphasized that Thailand and Vietnam, as two leading economies in the region, play a key role in the economic integration of the Mekong Basin through the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southern Economic Corridor.

According to Nguyên Ngoc Tân, President of the Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs' Tourism Club, there is a need to establish a common mechanism within ASEAN to strengthen links between companies, promote data sharing and alleviate constraints.This will create the right conditions for the development of the private sector and its integration into global supply chains.

The event was much more than a simple trade promotion initiative. It also sent out a strong message in favor of Vietnamese innovation, integration and value creation, confirming the private sector's pioneering role in the new era.

Delegates also attended the inauguration of the Vietnam - Northeast Thailand Trade Fair, which brought together nearly 50 stands from companies in both countries. Several cooperation agreements were signed between the Vietnamese-Thai Business Association and Vietnamese companies.

Speaking at the event, Dinh Hoàng Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, paid tribute to the Vietnamese-Thai Business Association, as well as to the diaspora business associations and the Vietnamese community in Northeast Thailand. He described their role as an "important bridge" for promoting concrete cooperation and consolidating the traditional friendship between the two nations.

Present at the fair with a stand displaying agricultural products typical of Udon Thani province, such as dates and green mangoes, Samatchaya Yukong, representative of Thanaporn Farm, said that the event had given her the opportunity to work with the Vietnamese community. the event had given her the opportunity to present her products to Vietnamese consumers, while expressing her wish to export to Vietnam in the near future.

For his part, Hô Van Lâm, Chairman of the Vietnamese-Thai Business Association, stressed that the fair was a perfect illustration of the spirit of cooperation and joint development. He added that it offered companies an ideal platform to promote their brand, find new partners and expand their markets. He expressed his confidence that trade relations between Vietnam and Thailand would continue to strengthen in the long term, to the benefit of the socio-economic development of both countries.
