Friday July 04, 2025 marks an important date for Benin. In plenary session, the members of the 9th legislature unanimously adopted the law on the National Development Vision 2060, presented by the Minister of State, Minister of Development and Coordination of Government Action, Mr. Abdoulaye BIO TCHANÉ.

The result of more than a year's forward thinking, rigorous studies and national consultations, this document places Benin on the path towards strategic governance based on long-term planning. It is a genuine orientation and reference framework for all future public policies, regardless of which government comes next.

In his presentation to the national assembly, the Minister of State emphasized the ambition of this vision: "It's all about saving our country from trial and error and navigation by sight. From now on, Benin's development will follow a clear trajectory, built around our deepest aspirations and the challenges of the century to come".

Vision Benin 2060 proposes a coherent set of long-term objectives in the economic, social, environmental, institutional and cultural fields. It will enable us to anticipate the major transformations underway, strengthen national cohesion, and build a sustainable future for future generations.

The adoption of this law crowns an exemplary process of national foresight initiated by the government of President Patrice TALON. It is also a powerful act of sovereignty, testifying to Benin's determination to take its destiny into its own hands, beyond political cycles.

Vision 2060 will serve as the basis for five-year and sectoral development plans, guaranteeing the continuity of public action in line with national aspirations.

With this major step forward, Benin has reached a new milestone in the construction of a modern, resilient and visionary state.
