Morocco/Imilchil: The mobile hospital continues to provide medical services to the population

The mobile hospital deployed last Friday in Imilchil, in the province of Midelt, is continuing to provide medical services to the population of this region, which has to contend with the harsh cold and snowfalls that make it difficult to get around at this time of year.

This structure has been put into service in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aimed at guaranteeing access to healthcare for populations affected by cold snaps, and as part of the continuity of healthcare services to make them more accessible to people living in remote areas.

The launch of this mobile hospital, in its third edition, is part of the drive to reduce territorial inequalities in access to healthcare, and to strengthen the quality of healthcare services.The launch of this third edition of the mobile hospital is part of the drive to reduce territorial inequalities in access to healthcare, and to improve the proximity of healthcare services for people living in remote areas, thereby reducing the need to travel to other regions for treatment.

According to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, some 53.000 inhabitants of the communes of "Ait Yahya", "Bou Azmou", "Outerbat", "Amelchil", "Tounfite" "Agoudim" and "Anemzi will benefit from various health services and a basket of treatments provided by this health facility.

"More than 2.000 inhabitants have already benefited from the services provided by this hospital since its launch last Friday", explained the Regional Director of Health and Social Protection, Mohamed Khassal, to the press, adding that the hospital provides general and specialist medical consultations, surgical and dental operations, and a range of other services.and surgical interventions, as well as pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, pneumologyrology, pulmonology, cardiovascular medicine, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, oral and dental surgery, and nursing care.

"To date, 15 surgical operations have been carried out", said Mr. Khassal, emphasizing the importance of this 32-bed hospital in diagnosing patients' illnesses and providing the necessary care.

Covering an area of 1.5 hectares, this mobile hospital includes a surgical unit with a large operating room, a room dedicated to ophthalmologic ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery, as well as a medical imaging and laboratory unit, a dental unit and a delivery room.

The opening of the hospital was warmly welcomed by the inhabitants of the communes concerned, who expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for his constant concern for vulnerable groups.

They also praised the efforts made by the medical, paramedical, technical and administrative staff to ensure the success of this initiative and reinforce the values of solidarity and mutual aid.

Zohra, a beneficiary who lives in Imilchil, said she had benefited from ophthalmological consultations and care provided by the specialist doctor, adding that " this structure has helped to bring medical care closer to the people of the region, saving us long journeys".

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has modernized and equipped the facility with the latest high-quality biomedical equipment and supplies, while mobilizing 250 qualified human resources.

It should be recalled that the services provided by this hospital have targeted the commune of Boumia (Midelt province), followed by the commune of Tighedouine (Al Haouz province) as a second stage, and then the commune of Al-Haouz (Midelt province) as a third.stage, followed by the commune of El Kebab (province of Khénifra) as the third stage, where medical services were provided on two occasions.

Imilchil represents the fourth stage of this third edition, which aims to provide health services to over 300,000 people.
