Morocco/Bouregreg water treatment plant: awareness-raising visit for children at the "Bouznika plage" vacation center
An awareness-raising visit to the water treatment plant of the Bouregreg Complex belonging to the Office National de l'Électricité et de l'Eau potable (ONEE) was organized on Wednesday for children from the "Bouznika plage" national vacation center. Organized by ONEE in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment as part of the "B7ar Bla Plastic" operation, the visit aimed to raise awareness and encourage children to preserve water resources, protect beaches and their environment, and fight pollution.
The aim of the visit is also to inform children about the activities of the central laboratory and its role in monitoring and controlling water quality, as well as raising their awareness of ONEE's efforts in this field.
The visit was an ideal opportunity to inform the young public about the various stages of water treatment and the techniques used to guarantee water quality and safety. The tour included a visit to the Water Museum at ONEE headquarters, the water treatment plant, the Central Water Quality Laboratory and the complex's purification control station.
On this occasion, explanations were given to the children on water quality control, the mechanisms of treatment, purification, microbiological and physical analysis of water, and the role of reservoirs in water preservation.
In a statement to MAP, Hamoucha El Boujnouni, Head of the Bacteriological and Parasitological Analysis Department at ONEE, said that the visit was part of the company's preventive activities.s prevention and awareness-raising activities at national level, to highlight the role of the Water Quality Control Department.
He added that the event also aimed to raise awareness among this category of children of the importance of protecting water resources, and to inform the young public about the mechanisms of water analysis, carried out at the mobile water monitoring laboratory.
The campaign, launched by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, is part of the 25th season of the "Clean Beaches" program.th season of the "Clean Beaches" program, which this year involves 109 beaches, including 27 "Blue Flag" beaches, as well as four marinas and, for the first time, a natural lake.
