The commune of Kolda has once again distinguished itself as one of the five best-performing communes in Senegal, according to the results of the 2024 performance evaluation based on the Pacasen Performance Indicators. Out of a total of 124 local authorities, Kolda came in fifth place, arousing palpable pride among its inhabitants.

The performance assessment, based on the Performance Indicators (IDP), awarded Kolda a remarkable score of 77 points, far exceeding the required threshold of 70 points to be eligible for the Pacasen financial window, reported the mayor's cabinet director. This exceptional performance paves the way for official recognition and increased financial support for municipal management in 2025, explained Abdou Salam Diallo.

The announcement of this distinction was greeted with enthusiasm and gratitude by the people of Kolda, who see it as a testimony to the dynamism and commitment of their local authorities to improving the quality of life in the commune. According to Mr. Diallo, this success is the fruit of hard work and effective policies implemented in various fields, ranging from governance and natural resource management to economic and social development.

He informed the audience that notification of this distinction will be accompanied by a substantial financial envelope to be allocated to the commune of Kolda for the management of the year 2025. This financial aid will be used to reinforce initiatives aimed at improving living conditions for residents, promoting sustainable development and consolidating Kolda's status as a model of good governance and local development in Senegal," he adds.

In conclusion, Kolda's outstanding performance in the IDP assessment for the year 2024 testifies to its commitment to excellence and its leadership in promoting community development. This recognition strengthens the municipality's determination to continue its efforts to build a better future for all its citizens.
