Touba has completed hosting the 2024 edition of its economic and social forum ( FEST in acronym). For the third year running, economic and social players, local authorities and partners shared a moment of profound exchange.

For this edition, discussions revolved around the "Alkhidmat" project, a panacea proposed by the Agence Privée contre la Pauvreté et pour L'Emploi au Sénégal (APPLES), a panacea for the difficult economic climate that is making the challenge of employment in Touba and the rest of Senegal even more complicated.
For Abdallah Ndiaye's organization, the aim is to create 1,000 small industrial units in each zone, promoting local production and marketing. The expertise of "Indocorp" will be required. According to forum participants, the Indian company is one of the leading experts in this field, and the project takes account of Touba's specific characteristics, including the modest resources available to most of the players involved.
The meeting was organized under the patronage of Touba town council and in collaboration with technical and financial partners such as Lekku-Fi. In his speech, the promoter said he was certain that "the challenges of youth employment and the fight against poverty can be met. The mayor of Touba, represented by Mor Lô, hailed the initiative before inviting the population to invest in the industrial units to achieve the desired economic emancipation.
