The Permanent Secretariat of the National Multisectoral Council for the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SP/COMUD) in collaboration with CBM Global Burkina Faso, as part of the implementation of a project called "Yirwa", has organized a training session for players from research institutes and other stakeholders. The opening ceremony was held on Tuesday March 26, 2024 in Ouagadougou.

Scheduled to take place from March 26 to 27, 2024 in Ouagadougou, this training aims to equip players on inclusive data collection including the Washington Group questionnaire. Training modules will be developed by experts on inclusive data collection and the Washington Group questionnaire.

According to Anne-Marie Wedraogo, Program Manager at CBM Global, the training session being held today will strengthen the capacities of statistical data providers in the area of inclusive data collection, with the aim of ensuring that inclusion is taken into account in all research and studies.

"As we all know, without statistical data it is difficult to grasp a phenomenon and, in turn, to make a strong case for mobilizing resources to tackle these problems.

CBM Global is an international Christian organization dedicated to improving the living conditions of people with disabilities. We are working towards an inclusive society in which everyone's voice counts.

I would like to remind you that the general objective of this activity is to strengthen your capacities in the collection of inclusive data, including the Washington Group questionnaire. In view of the interest of the theme and the objectives pursued, I already know that your work will be very enriching. I am therefore counting on the availability and full participation of all of you, so that at the end of this session, you will be able to work harder, in your respective structures, to make the issue of inclusive data collection a reality.
