Chad: partnership agreement between the communes of the 1st and 7th districts of N'Djamena

At a press briefing held this morning, January 31, 2024, in the commune of the 1st arrondissement, Djibrine Mahamat Abdelkerim, mayor of the commune of this arrondissement, signed a partnership agreement with the mayor of the commune of the 7th.

This is part of a collaboration between local authorities for the well-being of the Chadian population. The commune of the 1st arrondissement, in collaboration with the commune of the 7th, commemorated the signing of a partnership agreement and the progress of work by the two communes in the city of N'Djamena.

The two communes wished to materialize their collaboration within a legal framework, and give special emphasis to the politics and history of Chad, particularly the city of N'Djamena. They strengthened their ability to pool resources and develop innovative projects to serve the Chadian population.

In his welcoming remarks, the mayor of the 1st arrondissement, Djibrine Mahamat Abdelkerim, declared that this agreement testifies to the willingness of the two communes to work together for the well-being of the population. This partnership remains a benchmark for inter-community sustainable development, and will also enable the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education, health, sport and the environment.

Abbas Mahamat Atteïb, mayor of the 7th arrondissement, added that, for his commune, he had made many trips to France, Turkey and China, to learn how communes in these countries operate.

Finally, he warmly thanked Mayor Djibrine Mahamat Abdelkerim, the administrators, the neighborhood delegates and the chef de carré.
