The Social Promotion Centre of Comé, during a training session held on Thursday in the premises of the structure, strengthened the capacities of ten (10) communal actors, including relays and village chiefs of Dohi and Cocoucodji in the district of Agatogbo, on resilience to disasters that occur in the commune of Comé.

By organizing this training session, the social promotion center intends to strengthen the capacities of the population to face disasters that often occur in their environment. Invited to conduct the training session, the head of the Lokossa rescue centre, Anicet Glodjinon, briefed participants on more than ten (10) different disasters, namely floods, disaster equations, the fire triangle, external bleeding, cardiac arrest and trauma. In order for the population to actively play their role before the arrival of the fire brigade in case these disasters occur in their homes or neighbourhoods, the presenter placed special emphasis on techniques for dealing with one of these disasters and insisted on early warning in case of disaster.

Thus, based on concrete examples, the participants proved to the presenter that they can apply the concepts received in case of disaster while waiting for the arrival of the fire brigade on the scene. According to Anicet Glodjinon, with the demonstrations of the participants on the various practical cases that were submitted to them, the objective which is to give them some rudiments on resilience to floods, fire prevention and how to cope with it is achieved.

The chief of the Lokossa emergency centre explained that the delay often observed in the response to the requests of the fire brigade is linked to the reduced means available to the latter in the Mono department.

Let us stress that this Friday, other communal actors will be trained on the social protection mechanism.
