Vietnam/ Hanoi Red Cross mobilizes for the poor
In the run-up to Lunar New Year 2025, the Hanoi Red Cross launched its third annual Tet (Lunar New Year) charity market on Saturday January 4, benefiting 2,000 needy local residents.
With the help of donors, the market offers products worth a total of 1.6 billion dôngs. Each resident receives a gift voucher worth 600,000 dôngs to buy products sold at the market.
Beneficiaries can also take part in other activities such as the preparation of bánh chung (square sticky rice cake), calligraphy requests, free haircuts and folk games...
The "Têt de bonté 2025" movement, running from January 7 to 17, 2025, aims to prepare 1.2 million gifts for vulnerable people and those in difficult circumstances, with a total value of 700 billion dôngs (over 27.5 million USD).
