The "Jigeenrek" women's network in the Louga region, in partnership with the "Arena y Laurisilva" Federation of the Canaries, launched the second phase of the "Dox And Dem" project on Saturday, aimed at welcoming and caring for survivors of sexual violence.

We are here at the Louga cultural center today to launch the second phase of the Dox And Dem project, which is financed by the Féderation Arena y Laurisilva of the Canaries as part of our partnership'", said network president Mamyto Nakamurat.

She stressed that the project was set up "as part of the reception and care of survivors of sexual violence in the region". Activities will take place between January and September 2024.

The cost of the project is estimated at 45,000 euros.

According to her, "the urgent need is to care for and welcome women and girls who are victims of sexual violence in the Louga region, but also to carry out a study on sexual violence in the area to enable those who come after to have reliable data so that they can act effectively".

"That's why we decided to set up this unit, with the partnership of the Louga girls' center, which enables us to welcome and house potential survivors of sexual violence, but also the project will offer legal and psychotic assistance to these victims," she explained.

Here in Louga, we now have the chance not only to raise awareness, but also to take care of women and girls who may be victims of sexual violence," she remarked.
