Congo/Abala district: schools receive school supplies
On October 21, members of the "Travailleurs d'Abala" platform donated school supplies and other items to pupils and schools in this district in the Plateaux department.
The donation ceremony took place at the Abala technical college. Consisting of boxes of chalk, reams of paper, notebooks, pots of glue and A4 envelopes, the donation was mobilized by members of the platform as part of a humanitarian action project for the region.
Francis Ngampana and Delphine Mbongo, two of the project's coordinating members, handed over the donation in the presence of pupils, school heads and local authorities.
Francis Ngampana explained that the choice of beneficiary schools was made by zone and according to the resources available, before expressing the hope that the project would continue. He also invited Abala district residents to make contributions, which he said would be managed with "transparency". For their part, the learners and school organizers welcomed the initiative of the members of the platform, which has no political connotations.
In addition to school supplies, the Abala CET received masonry and carpentry equipment (anvil hammers, wood saws, trowels, levels) and other items. At the start of the 2023-2024 school year, the "Travailleurs d'Abala" platform had provided assistance to the collège d'enseignement général and the two elementary school based in the center of the locality.
