Chad: Training leaders in electoral conflict management
A seven-day training course on leadership and electoral conflict management ended on October 25 in Ndjamena. This program was financed by the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES) and is an essential pillar of the support program for parliament and electoral processes.
The main objective of this session is to ensure the smooth running of future elections, with a focus on leadership and conflict management.
Madjiguene Thiam, the training coordinator, stressed the importance of equipping each stakeholder with the skills and civic engagement required for future electoral processes.
Participants had access to a variety of content, including leadership techniques, training techniques, analysis of the fragility of the electoral cycle and strategies for preventing electoral conflicts.
Belngar Larmé, President of the Commission Nationale des Droits de l'Homme (CNDH), encouraged participants to put the knowledge they had acquired into practice and to share their experiences. He also stressed that training is only of value if it is multiplied tenfold and a source of positive change.
The participants will be responsible for training other Chadians, which represents a major challenge in terms of ensuring that the skills they acquire will last. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of political and social players to manage conflict and foster a peaceful and inclusive electoral environment.
