Avoid renunciation of healthcare at all costs. The town council of Villejuif(Val-de-Marne) has recently taken a number of measures to facilitate access to healthcare for its residents and local workers in general, reports Le Parisien . This Friday, October 18, 2024, the municipality launched a "mutuelle communale".
A new municipal health center
In partnership with La Mutuelle Familiale, the town will offer a supplementary health insurance scheme that is accessible regardless of age or income. Currently, 13,700 Villejuif residents - or 24% of the local population - have no mutual insurance to reimburse their medical expenses.
On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the town hall also inaugurated its fourth municipal health center. It will eventually house three general practitioners, who will also provide home visits, and specialists. These are just some of the measures designed to solve the problem of access to healthcare in the commune, which has lost more than a dozen doctors in just ten years.
