The 2nd edition of the Salon des collectivités de Côte d'Ivoire will be held in Abidjan, from September 29 to October 1, 2022, at the Palais de congrès de Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, in the town of Cocody, with Morocco as the guest of honor, announced Thursday, July 7, 2022, the Commissioner General, Penda Dramera, at a ceremony to present the event to local development actors.

According to Ms. Dramera, the exhibition of communities is a timely opportunity for all actors to meet and transform the opportunity offered in the new dynamics of regional development. The next edition will bring together agents of the territorial administration, ministries in charge of the economy, infrastructure, education, etc., the communities themselves (mayors, regional councils, autonomous districts) and the private sector.

It will focus on the theme, "Development of territories: Public actions and private solutions" and will revolve around promotional activities such as exhibitions, panels, conferences, discoveries, workshops and meetings B to B.

"It is a fair, which will enhance today our different territories, will bring much to our different populations. Also, we would like to take advantage of this forum to call for the mobilization of all (local elected officials, territorial executives, technical and financial partners, business leaders and populations) so that they take ownership of this project and ensure its success," she said.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Union of Cities and Municipalities of Côte d'Ivoire (UVICOCI), Paulin Claude Danho, the representative of the President of theAssembly of Regions and Districts of Côte d'Ivoire (ARDCI), Célestin Sérey Doh, and the representative of the Director General of Decentralization and Local Development (DGDL), Hortense Aka.

All these personalities welcomed the opportunity of this exhibition which will allow local elected officials to present "innovative projects" and establish partnerships with investors to boost the development of their various communities. They urged these first officials of local development to a massive participation in this edition that will magnify the South-South cooperation in order to draw many benefits.

"It is known that throughout the world, all countries that have experienced a boom, this is mainly due to the success of decentralization that has allowed local governments, economically, structurally and politically to be strong. We believe that the time has come, in Côte d'Ivoire, for decentralization to no longer be the result of redundancy and unfulfilled aspirations. We must move away from incessant pleas to a true decentralization where we put our populations at the heart of public action. That is why we welcome this exhibition," said Mr. Danho.

The first edition of the exhibition of communities was held Heden Golf Hotel from 7 to 9 November 2019 with 47 stands, 150 exhibitors, 1200 visitors, more than 180 meetings B to B organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Abidjan, it was learned.
