Switzerland / Funding to promote the integration of foreigners will increase
The Confederation plans to increase funding for the integration of foreign nationals. It has allocated 334.5 million francs for the 2028–2032 period, compared with 250 million francs during the previous period.
More funding should be allocated to the integration of foreigners. On Friday, the Federal Council requested a commitment appropriation of 334.5 million for 2028 through 2032, compared with 250 million for the previous period.
The increase in funding is primarily due to the higher number of beneficiaries. As a result, 66.9 million per year (+5.4) will be allocated to measures promoting integration.
The federal government will also commit 29.6 million per year to programs and projects of national importance. This includes, in particular, making better use of the potential offered by workers currently in Switzerland.
The cantons will receive 37.3 million per year for their integration programs. These programs focus in particular on learning a national language, as well as providing information and advice on the labor market.
