Some 63 units of blood were collected on Saturday at the health clinic in Sédo Sébé, a village in the municipality of Nabadji Civol, during a blood drive organized by the Association of Pupils, Students, and Executives of Sédo Sébé (AEECSS).

“We organized this blood drive to help ensure a sufficient blood supply and support doctors who sometimes face difficult situations when treating patients,” explained Dr. Omar Diop, a member of the AEECSS.

The collection of 63 units of blood was one of the main outcomes of this event, which saw strong participation from the residents of Sédo Sébé, Mr. Diop noted at the close of the day.

“We are truly pleased with the community’s response; people came out in large numbers to support our appeal,” he added.

The event also featured a distribution of 3,000 insecticide-treated bed nets, provided with the support of Professor Aliou Thiongane, coordinator of the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP).

According to Dr. Diop, this initiative aims to strengthen malaria prevention and help protect communities in this northern part of the country.
