With the Central African government aiming to make cotton a pillar of its economic recovery strategy, this study tour seeks to draw on the experience of Benin, now recognized as one of Africa’s leading cotton producers thanks to its efficient value chain organization.
During the meeting, CNA-B officials presented the institution’s role, the national framework for structuring agricultural sectors, as well as the mechanisms for governance, producer support, and coordination among the various stakeholders who contribute to the cotton sector’s performance.
Following the discussions, the head of the Central African delegation, Thierry Max Zouma, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the discussions: “We are very pleased with this exchange.”
This visit highlights Benin’s position as a regional leader in the development of agricultural value chains and confirms the importance of cooperation among African countries to accelerate the transformation of their economies.
