As part of the project “Supporting the Integration of Artificial Intelligence into Higher Education in the Middle East,” implemented by the AUF and funded by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (France), the Lebanese University is continuing to roll out cascade training for its faculty.

Led by the trainer-mentors trained by the AUF, this initiative is based on the bilingual French-Arabic SPOC developed by the AUF as part of the project and dedicated to generative AI, structured around three main areas: the integration of AI into teaching practices, AI-driven gamification, and the use of AI in academic research.

The sessions were held in a hybrid format, combining online activities with in-person meetings to promote accessibility and peer interaction. Some of these sessions were held at the Francophone Digital Campus/Francophone Employability Center (CNF/CEF) in Tripoli.

The first round of training comprised ten sessions, involving 208 committed faculty members and resulting in the production of 165 validated teaching scenarios, demonstrating a concrete adoption of AI tools in course design.

The second round built on this momentum with thirteen additional sessions, bringing together 264 dedicated faculty members and confirming the gradual integration of this approach across the University of Libya’s various faculties and departments.

A third round of training is already scheduled for September 1–15, 2026, continuing the goal of widespread adoption, which aims to extend the responsible and context-appropriate use of AI to the entire teaching community.
