On May 19, 2026, Saarland University hosted a study day devoted to the training of entrepreneurs in plurilingual and intercultural contexts, organized as part of the P3E project, supported by the AUF-Western Europe Co//ectif 2024 program.

Through exchanges between students, professors, academic leaders and representatives of civil society, the society, the meeting highlighted the importance of linguistic, intercultural and relational skills in the development of sustainable entrepreneurship.

At a time when technologies are transforming economic practices and modes of cooperation, participants were reminded that the success of entrepreneurial projects also depends on the ability to understand others, to dialogue in multilingual environments and to build relationships based on trust. In multilingual and intercultural contexts, particularly in the South, sustainable entrepreneurship cannot be viewed solely in terms of technical or economic skills: it also relies on openness, listening and mutual understanding.

Training entrepreneurs in these environments means giving them the tools they need to operate in a variety of cultural settings, cooperate with partners from different horizons and develop projects rooted in local realities. The study day provided an opportunity to address these issues from a variety of angles, combining academic, entrepreneurial and civic perspectives.

AUF-Europe Occidentale took part in the event, presenting the initiatives of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in favor of entrepreneurship. Through the ENTREPRENDRE program, the IntenSciF and Co//ectif programs, the CLEF/AICLEF youth initiatives, the PIMEF program, the MIME competition and the solidarity mentoring platform, the AUF supports the development of an entrepreneurial culture within the French-speaking world.

These programs share a common objective: to strengthen the skills of students, young researchers, teachers and member institutions, while fostering the bonds of trust necessary for innovation, exchanges and sustainable economic growth.

Bringing together 45 participants, this study day helped to stimulate reflection on the conditions for a more inclusive and sustainable form of entrepreneurship, one that is fully attentive to the linguistic and cultural realities of each territory.
