France/Salles: a year rich in events and projects for the twinning committee
Fabienne Grelaud, president of the Salles twinning committee, looked back on a busy year in 2025 and presented plans for 2026 at the general meeting.

The season ended with a total of 50 members. Spanish classes are held at Salle Cazauvieilh on Thursday evenings at 6:15pm. January 2025 saw an outing to the carnival in Bera and Lesaka, Spain, open to all Sallois.
In June, the association took part in organizing the jubilee of the éclaireurs de Gascogne and the 100th anniversary of the Harmonie de Salles. In August, it was a convivial day on the shores of Lake Cazaux.
As every year, the Comité de Twinning took part in the Forum des Associations, selling over 140 meals at a modest price, with the Union des Commerçants et Artisans (Ucas) manning the refreshment stand. Proceeds were shared with the association.
Outings to Bera
On September 26, 27 and 28, an outing to meet Bera cyclists was organized from Salles. The cyclists from the Comité de Twinning and Cyclo Club Sallois were supported halfway by the Spaniards from Bera, and for the last 60 km by the ladies, on electric bikes made available by Mayor Bruno Bureau. On Sunday, a guided tour was organized by the Spaniards in Ibardin after a Saturday hike around Sarre, followed by a visit to the Witches' Cave Museum in Zugarramurdi.
The twinning committee also provided financial support for Pink October and Movember, and helped the Lanot school with a school trip to Romagnat in the Puy-de-Dôme region.
In 2026, an invitation to Romagnat is planned for April 24, 25 and 26, and another to Bera, with the cyclists, in May or June, as well as a bonding day at Lac de Cazaux on July 23 and a hiking weekend in Bera in October.
