Congo/Vocational integration: more than 500 young people trained in promising trades
Over 500 young people from arrondissement 5, Ouenzé, in Brazzaville, completed a three-month training course last October as part of the "Agir pour les jeunes" program. Launched in August, the initiative resulted in the award of certificates and, for some beneficiaries, support kits designed to promote their professional integration.
For three months, hundreds of young people took part in training courses leading to qualifications in a range of promising trades. The initiative, spearheaded locally by the Honourable Romi Oyo, Member of Parliament for the third electoral district of Ouenzé, in collaboration with youth partners and local organizations, is part of a drive to help young people find employment and become self-sufficient.
Trades adapted to the market
According to Christ Ndzaba, coordinator of the "Agir pour les jeunes" program, this first edition, organized free of charge, covered several strategic sectors. " The young people were trained from August to October 2025 in IT, secretarial office work, receptionist, reception and air hostess, hotel and catering work and pastry-making. After three months of theoretical and practical training, they passed written and practical assessments supervised by the Direction générale de la formation qualifiante et de l'emploi, the results of which now justify the award of certificates," he explained.Indeed, the pedagogical approach prioritized practical learning, to enable learners to acquire skills that can be put to immediate use in the job market.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Honorable Romi Oyo underlined the significance of this initiative. " Today is a day that reflects our constant commitment: to act for young people. Acting doesn't just mean making speeches, it means training with rigor, supporting with kindness and creating concrete opportunities", he maintained. For the elected representative, the presentation of certificates and support kits is much more than a symbol. "This ceremony is not a mere formality. It marks the culmination of a journey and the opening of a future rich in potential. We are rewarding merit and valuing hard work, but your real strength will remain your determination and discipline ", continued the initiator of the formaiion.
Reaffirming his commitment to youth, he pointed out that investing in young people means forging the citizens of tomorrow and consolidating peace and national cohesion in the long term.
For Guillaume Pierre Youlou-Youlou, representative of the Direction générale de la formation qualifiante et de l'emploi, the training received represents a decisive step forward. " This ceremony marks the culmination of an apprenticeship, but above all the opening of new pages in the professional lives of our graduates. After all their efforts, it's time to reap the harvest," he emphasized. He also encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the skills they have acquired. " This training now makes you players in the development of our economy. Use it as a lever to ensure your empowerment ", he advised.
Among the beneficiaries, the emotion was palpable. Louise Armedy Ndinga, a distinguished recipient trained as an air hostess, expressed her gratitude. "This certificate means a lot to me. The training wasn't easy, but we gave it our best shot. We learned fromcompetent teachers, and today we're reaping the rewards of our efforts," she declared. Referring to her personal journey, she confided that "Being an orphan and lacking financial support is not easy. But thanks to this opportunity, I can pursue my dreams. It's a huge opportunity.
Seizing this opportunity, she launched a message to other young people who today lack the courage to train. " Training starts with a decision. You have to choose what you want to become, and give yourself the means to get there. The opportunities are there ," she said.
