Chad-France: FCFA 26 billion to empower young people through the ALAPAJ project
At the 2ᵉ steering committee meeting for the "Améliorer les Apprentissages pour l'Autonomisation des Jeunes" (ALAPAJ) project, France reaffirmed its unwavering support for Chad's education system. This ambitious program aims to transform the quality of education to offer better future prospects for young people.
The project has a total budget of 40 million euros (around 26 billion CFA francs). This financing is provided by :
-
Agence Française de Développement (AFD);
-
The European Union, through its complementary financial support.
To support the Ministry of National Education, the ALAPAJ project is focusing on key regions of the country to strengthen local capacities:
-
Wadi Fira;
-
Ouaddaï;
-
Logone Oriental;
-
Mandoul.
In addition to providing technical support to the Ministry, the very essence of ALAPAJ is to ensure that school-based learning leads to genuine empowerment. The project supports the reform of the education system so that it better responds to Chad's socio-economic challenges.
