Chad

The agricultural development program in Chad, piloted by Hungary, enters a new concrete phase.

This project, jointly managed by the Hungary Helps Agency and the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE), has reached a decisive stage with the start of construction work. Earthworks and construction have begun on the site destined to house the future center of excellence specializing in camel breeding and camel milk processing.

Socio-economic impact and regional scope

This development aims to ensure sustainable livelihoods and economic autonomy for Chadians, targeting in particular women, young people and disadvantaged communities.

In recent months, major preparatory steps have already been taken:

  • Arrival of Hungarian agricultural equipment.

  • Laying of the foundation stone for the project.

Once operational, the center will not only provide local farmers and researchers with access to modern knowledge and tools, but will also contribute to the long-term development of the Sahel region as a whole.
