For the restoration of heritage linked to sheep farming in the Agneaux de Lacaune area.

Recently, the Association Interprofessionnelle de promotion des agneaux du bassin de Roquefort and the two Occitanie delegations of the Fondation du patrimoine renewed their partnership in favor of heritage restoration linked to sheep farming, in the Lacaune lamb region (Aveyron, Aude, Hérault, Gard, Lozère and Tarn).

The agreement is part of a structured partnership based on the principle that for every lamb slaughtered and sold by an Agno'Interpro member company, one euro is donated to the Fondation du patrimoine in support of the program.

The Fondation du Patrimoine supports private, public and associative owners in the realization of conservation and restoration projects, and contributes to the financing of such projects where appropriate. The Fondation du patrimoine's actions are designed to promote sustainable local development, by supporting the creation of jobs, the training and professional integration of young people, and the transmission of traditional know-how.

To achieve these objectives, the Fondation du patrimoine works in close partnership with local authorities and government departments. In carrying out its missions, the Fondation also seeks to mobilize the private energies (companies, associations, individuals) likely to invest in the cause of heritage preservation.

The Association Interprofessionnelle de promotion des agneaux du bassin de Roquefort was created in 2006, following a common desire on the part of all those involved in the production of Roquefort lamb.of Lacaune lamb production in the Roquefort basin to ensure a stable and sustainable economic balance, and to reinforce the value of their product for consumers.

These lamb producers, aware that through their activity they are helping to preserve typical sheep-breeding know-how, wanted to join forces with the Fondation du Patrimoine, in order to showcase their lambs while playing a greater part in restoring local heritage.

Two projects in Lozère

The Agno'Interpro association, in partnership with the Fondation du patrimoine, supported the project to restore the Bombes lavogne at Le Massegros. A €4,000 grant was awarded to the commune of Le Massegros for this restoration project, which was completed in 2010.

The mayor at the time, Jean-Luc Aigouy, wanted to restore the shepherds' shelters on the local causse. These witnesses to a not-too-distant past were partly ruined. The structure had to be rebuilt and the limestone slate roof redone.
The Agno'Interpro association and the Fondation du patrimoine funded the project.
