Martinique

It's become a tradition at the major local authority's headquarters in Cluny, where for several years now, the island's most valiant middle and high school students have been invited each July by the executive. For the 2024-2025 school year, which has just come to a close, hundreds more received congratulations and awards from the political powers that be.

Every year in July, the Most Deserving Pupils ceremonies are held to honor those who have made tireless efforts and whose behavior is judged to be exemplary.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the selected students and their parents met on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at the CTM (Collectivité Territoriale de Martinique) hotel in Cluny.

The high school students were honored in the morning, and in the afternoon it was the turn of the middle school students to be honored, hundreds of young people delighted by their presence and proud of the work accomplished over 11 months.

"Results, values, exemplarity..."

The aim of these annual ceremonies is to recognize and reward middle and high school students who have distinguished themselves by their academic results, their civic values, their interpersonal skills and their exemplarity throughout the school year.

The reception of the schoolchildren was marked by a performance on steel pans by students from a music section, to thunderous applause from their first "fans": the parents.

It was also a happy moment for Nadia Accus-Adaine, vice-president of the CTM's education commission, because "it's important to support deserving students and, above all, to encourage them to persevere ".

"We have some real nuggets".

Some are involved in sports or associations, and it's important to show them that we recognize their work and let them know that the CTM is keen to congratulate them on their achievements (...). We have some real nuggets on the island, so we should be proud of our young people. Martinique needs them, and we want to see them in key positions here in the future.

The students were selected by the teaching teams at the various schools," explains the Collectivité.said the Collectivité, at ceremonies attended by several school heads, as in previous years.
