The Twinning Committee's traditional paella evening drew 80 guests to the Salle Gérard-Forgues.

On Friday evening, the Lons-Santoña twinning committee welcomed some 80 guests to the Salle Gérard-Forgues for its traditional paella evening. A summer rendezvous under the banner of conviviality and Franco-Spanish friendship.

Claude Simon, president of the committee, opened the evening with a word of welcome and a minute's silence in tribute to Simon Clot, a faithful member of the association who recently passed away.

Annual Loto on July 19, 20 and 22

Musical and festive entertainment was provided by Bruno Sallaberry, a musician and singer familiar with Lonsois association events. Already a favorite at previous events, he was warmly invited back. With his generous voice, his trumpet and his stage presence, he was able to unite the participants around shared songs and dances.

During the evening, Claude Simon presented the committee's next event: the annual lotto, to be held on July 19, 20 and 22 at Coarraze's Salle Beauvallon. He pointed out that the profits from this event will be used to support concrete projects, such as school exchanges between young people from Lonsois and Spain.

Those wishing to take part are invited to make themselves known to help organize car pooling.

A key player in local life

Nicolas Patriarche, Mayor of Lons, praised the work of the committee, which he sees as an essential player in local life and a genuine bridge between cultures.

He also thanked Lydie Simon, deputy mayor for culture and active member of the committee, for her constant commitment.
