Lebanon/Closing of the 2ᵉ edition of the "Women Developers of Tomorrow - Lebanon" project.
The second edition of the "Développeuses de demain - Liban" program has just been successfully completed. Conducted as part of a partnership between the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) and Simplon.co, a French social economy company, this initiative is financed for the second year running by the Île-de-France region.
The aim of the project was to help Lebanese women enter or re-enter the digital sector through high-quality professional training and support.
The training took place in two phases:
- the first six weeks, entitled "Hackeuses", provided an introduction to the digital professions. Of the 23 participants selected, 20 completed the course, and 19 obtained their certification;
- a second phase, a six-month intensive bootcamp in web and mobile web development, covering both front-end and back-end aspects. Of the 25 candidates selected, 17 completed the course and 16 successfully presented their final projects, thus obtaining certification as Fullstack Developers.
Alongside the acquisition of technical skills, the AUF set up a soft skills training program comprising 14 sessions. These workshops covered key topics such as public speaking, project presentation, creating CVs and LinkedIn profiles, teamwork, leadership and preparing for job interviews, including role-playing exercises on technical and HR aspects.
The participants also had the opportunity to take part in a job fair organized at the Beirut Digital District, and will soon benefit from a job dating event designed to put them in touch with companies in the digital sector and facilitate their professional integration in Lebanon.
This second edition of the project ended with a graduation ceremony, marking the recognition of the efforts, commitment and skills acquired by the learners throughout their journey.
