In Bazré, in the sub-prefecture of Sinfra, the Departmental Transport Delegation has launched a vast road safety awareness campaign, marking a new stage in the prevention of traffic accidents.

Unlike the national road safety week, which takes place every month from 3rd to 10th and focuses on checks and the repression of offences, this campaign focuses on educating users and making them more aware of their responsibilities. The head of the delegation, Traoré Djakaridja, said on Wednesday May 14, 2025.

Mr. Traoré stressed that the fight against road accidents (AVP) does not only concern drivers of vehicles or motorcycles. "Pedestrians and even nomadic herdsmen also have their share of responsibility," he declared.

He announced that this outreach action would be intensified in neighborhoods, markets, places of worship and other public spaces, in order to reach all sections of the population.

The campaign has the support of the defense and security forces, religious leaders, youth, the High Council of Transporters, as well as the prefectural administration, which is heavily involved in the initiative.

The Bazré stage marks the official start of the campaign, which will be extended throughout the Sinfra department.

Road safety week is an initiative launched in 2021 by the Ivorian authorities to combat road insecurity through preventive and repressive actions.
