Algeria/ Algiers: study day on mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption
ALGIERS - A study day on "Mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption in Algeria" was organized on Tuesday by the Faculty of Economics, Business and Management Sciences at the University of Algiers 3, in collaboration with the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption.
Speaking at the event, Khaled Rouaski, Rector of the University of Algiers 3, said that the meeting "intends to come up with both academic and practical solutions for eradicating corruption, in line with the guidelines laid down by the country's highest authorities and the recommendations of the President of the Republic, Mr. Moussa.and practical solutions for the eradication of corruption, in line with the orientations of the country's high authorities and the recommendations of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebbid. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to prevent and combat this phenomenon".
For his part, Samir Azzedine, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Management Sciences, noted that "the phenomenon of corruption is one of the greatest challenges hampering the development of our economy.one of the greatest challenges to the socio-economic development of countries, due to its negative impact on the business climate".
Abdelmadjid Keddi, a member of the Board of the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption, emphasized the role of universities in "reinforcing transparency and preventing corruption, through training and the promotion of a culture of combating this scourge".
Other speakers addressed the legal framework for preventing corruption, illustrated by the creation of several specialized structures such as the Cellule de traitement du renseignement financier, the Inspection géneral des Finances, the Cour des Comptes, the Office Central de Répression de la Corruption and the Haute Autorité de Transparence, de Prévention et de Lutte contre la Corruption, created under the 2020 Constitution.
