Vietnam and Italy boost cooperation in the field of justice
A delegation from the Ministry of Justice, led by its Deputy Minister Mai Luong Khoi, paid a working visit to Italy from April 14 to 16 to strengthen bilateral collaboration, building on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2016 by the two Ministries of Justice.
At his meeting with Italian Justice Minister Carlo Nordio on April 16, Mai Luong Khôi expressed the hope that the two ministries would continue the effective implementation of the 2016 memorandum of understanding through concrete activities. He presented a draft cooperation program for 2026-2027 to Minister Carlo Nordio and suggested that the two parties finalize the project quickly.
Carlo Nordio affirmed Italy's willingness to cooperate and share expertise with Vietnam in areas such as the fight against organized crime and personnel training.
On April 14, the Vietnamese delegation held a working session with representatives of the Italian Ministry of Justice. The two sides agreed to jointly organize future seminars to further share experiences in areas where their functions converge.
During their stay in Italy, the delegation held working meetings with the President of the National Council of Notaries, Giulio Biino, and the Secretary General of the Lawyers' Association, Alessandro Graziani. It also met with Vincenzo Starita, Vice-President of the Italian Intercountry Adoption Commission. The latter thanked the Vietnamese ministry for its support in promoting cooperation in adoption matters, assuring that Italy was ready to support Vietnam with staff training activities.
The Vietnamese Vice-Minister reaffirmed the country's efforts to effectively implement its commitments in the field of international adoption, and expressed confidence in further cooperation in this area.
