Canada/Discounts for land buyers in Alma's ecoresponsible industrial park
Environmentally-conscious companies will be able to benefit from special rates if they decide to locate in Alma's eco-responsible industrial park. These rates were made official at Monday night's city council meeting.
The price of a 60,000 sq. ft. lot could range from $135,000 to $210,000. The discount will be granted to land buyers once their environmental commitments have been verified.
The more eco-responsible the company's practices, whether in terms of water management, residual materials or [...] working conditions, the more its price will be modulated.

Alison Fortin-Simard, General Manager of Développement économique Alma Lac-Saint-Jean, adds that tax credits related to certain environmental certifications will also be available to these buyers.
The Autocar Jeannois group already began construction of a building in this new industrial sector last year. Ms. Fortin-Simard is eager to see other companies choose this location, although she admits she doesn't have a specific target number just yet.
We're looking to attract any company that has good business practices, whether it's in clean technologies, renewable energies, sustainable agri-food, or any other company that pays attention to its carbon footprint and its business practices. carbon footprint and sustainable business practices," she said in an interview on C'est jamais pareil.
The main street of the new eco-responsible industrial park, accessible via Saint-Jude Boulevard, will bear the name Hubert Reeves in tribute to the astrophysicist and ecologist. "The inspirational character of Mr. Reeves was taken into account in the choice of this street," says Ms. Fortin-Simard.
